Gorgeous. I would love to take a class specifically on caterpillar stitching - my own attempts have been very hit and miss, since I have to resort to good old fashioned trial and error to figure out basic things like 'how tense should my threads be while I sew the spine'.

This version in the photo is elegant. It doesn't have those nodes that repeated wrapping makes.

Just came across your site--beautiful books! As a printmaker/bookmaker AND an art historian, I will weigh in on the title question. I would guess that conventional wisdom would say that an artist is supposed to stick with one title; however, that's often not the case. I'm in the process of writing a book on a 20th-century German artist, Alice Lex, and I have repeatedly run into instances where she exhibited and documented the same work under slightly different or even vastly different titles (Lex also changed the dates of her work, on occasion, which I see as much more problematic). A colleague working on Lea Grundig encountered the same altered titles issue. So, if you do, you're not alone! All the best to you - Rachel

I'm so sorry to hear about Yogi. I remember seeing pictures you posted of him a while back, probably when you got him. They stood out in my memory because he had such an interesting, intelligent face. I used to have two orange and white cats myself, brothers (I should probably say they had me), and know how special they can be. Truly, I am so sorry to hear about your heartbreaking loss.

I love the concept of using children's stories as inspiration of art. Using the physical form is also a great touch too. Very nice piece, I can tell it took alot of time and effort.
